The building has been inspiring creativity for centuries. Built in 1862 when Lincoln was president, Moulin was originally a textile mill where blankets and uniforms for soldiers in the Civil War were created (did you know the word “mill” translates to “moulin” in French?). Moulin is housed within a secluded arts community just one block off East River Drive.
